The Poor Man is the "Sacrament of Our Encounter with Christ"

On today's Gospel Reading...

"The poor are not only brothers and sisters to be loved in a brotherly way because they are our brothers and sisters, they are also 'our lords the poor' because the poor man is Our Lord. He is the sacrament of our encounter with Christ, of our love given to Christ..."
~
Servant of God Madeleine Delbrel

There are many kinds of poor, not just those without money.
They are the poor souls who have lost their way in life.
They are the poor souls who no longer believe.
They are the poor souls who believe that all happiness is found in material things.
They are the poor souls who have no family.
They are the poor souls struggling with addiction.
They are the poor souls who have no identity outside a corporate office.
They are the poor souls who struggle to live like Christ in a secular world.
They are the poor souls who struggle to live in a secular world like Christ.
They are the ones who do not fit inside your social circle.
They are the blind, the sick, and the weak.
They are the nerds, the geeks, the weak.
They are the competitive, the tight-fisted, the vain.
They are the ones without earthly cares that care for nothing outside their own security.
They are the one you avoided today.
They are the ones you thought or spoke ill of today.

Every man you meet is an encounter with Christ.

How do you meet Him outside Yourself?
