Intrinsically the King

"Jesus of Nazareth...is so intrinsically king that the title 'King' has actually become his name.

"The feast of Christ the King is therefore not a feast of those who are subjugated, but a feast of those who know that they are in the hands of the one who writes straight on crooked lines."

~ Pope Benedict XVI

The end of the old Church year is upon us and the beginning of a new Church year is at hand. Now is the time to increase, embrace, teach, learn, engulf, and fully live the beauty and richness of our Catholic faith.

Make a commitment within your household to participate more fully in the life of the Catholic Church, the only Church that dates back to Jesus Christ and his handing over the keys of the kingdom to the first Pope, St. Peter.

"And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." ~ Matthew 16:18-19

I'll be writing about our time-honored Catholic history, heritage, traditions, and practices for each liturgical season at CatholicMom.com this year.

The Gospel Team shares wonderful Gospel Activities for each Sunday. Here is one for today's Feast of Christ the King.

Appropriately, O Night Divine has a picture study of Salvator Mundi (Saviour of the World) painted by Early Renaissance painter Andrea Previtali to share with our families today.
